Thought it may go much higher but only just noticed it's hiding in a section for scooter parts (what a bloody insult!), so it should be just down to you lot.
Two red seat humps in the Falco spares area, plus a Rene kit, also a red top fairing and a rear Ohlins.

is at 22 quid now and yes, I had also spotted the two other humps lurking around - i think that ebay is really dependant on what your search powers are like - i reguarly do a series of searches to find what i want, and this time i just got lucky in finding this one :)

having said that, the others can now be colour matched so may not be bad if i loose the auction - or i may even find something else to replace it with - I may have an inside line on a rear luggage platform that would be just as good ..... and is from aprilia :)

Black ones always seem to fetch more for some reason, wonder why?
When I bought mine a few months ago had to go to £52 with postage but a red one at the same didn't sell at £40.
I suppose the best colours are worth paying for.
Hope you get it at a good price mate!

Did you get it Aladinsane ?

I missed out and will now have to look at red ones and a spray job.

Be sure you can get the paint first!
I paid £100 to have my paint "computer matched" when I had my belly pan sprayed, told would match up anything perfectly, but wasn't right.
Just don't think spray shops get much call for a black with blue metalic bits, most are silver or gold.
Good luck on next attempt.

Yes I heard about paint match "issues".
I'm thinking more about a complete respray so no need for a match. I would then make sure I had any extra body parts to hand to get them all the same colour.

Not sure I'd be too bothered about the blue metallic element as long as it's still black.

We shall see....

I recommend these guys for paints. Theyre not Halfords cheap, however they are competitive and supply very high quality paints, not cheap shoddy sh*t. Tony and Alison who own it are very helpful (Tony is a biker)

If anyone does ask them for help in paint matching then please mention that RiderSite sent you!

Aye - and thanks - i think i was prepared to go that little bit further..... but was interesting - i did my normal tactic of not making a bid untill a half hour before the auction closed, then going to my first limit

think o this, many people do the same thing - set a max bid and then go to work - if you can watch the auction, then do not bid untill the last period of time - then see how the bidding goes - you will see how many other parties are interested and it will give you a good idea of how far they will go.

I always set two max limits - the first is to see, the second is when i am absolutly certain i am prepared to spend that amount

In this instance, I know a new one would be about 100 ukp, so was prepared to spend up to half of that for the right piece. My first limit therefore was 35 quid - then up to 50 once i realised that there was only one real competitor, and i had remembered about colour matching a respray.....

Oh - and there is a reason why the black ones are rarer - they are faster.....

Al,
The Aprilia Yorkshire price is surprisingly (or not!!), £153.13 inc. VAT for a new one in black, (plus delivery if you need it), that's why I went up to 50 odd pounds for a mint one on ebay. Sometimes dealers let old stock go cheaper but not much.

Dunno about you lot and your random bids but the proper way is about 20 seconds before the end and chuck in the odd few pence on top. I've only lost 2 that way. (mind you I've only bid on about 100 items in 6 years)

well, it arrived this morning, 20 hours after the auction closedwhich I thought was impressive

It was damn well wrapped - bubble wrap, cling film, gaffer tape etc

Finally I got it out and had a good look at it

It's brand new to all intensive purposes! So new, I do not think it has even been on a bike - the sprong is a tight fit, and took a little persuasion to actually fit

am very pleased and have added that seller to my favourites - though the reference number he quoted, as in for the part is actually the flap that fits under the cowl - and yes, that was there as well LOL
