Well for me it's Remus these carbon cans have been on for three years now and still look and sound good.
Mine are GP cans although not street legal they are not outrageously loud but give a great low base sound and a usefully boost in power of around 3-4 BHP without the need to re-chip they are also very light and well made with no ugly brackets, street legal cans are also supplied.

And they also come from the home of the Rotex engine :smt002

I have the Renegades, love em to bit's though they are on the loud side, but rene also do the DB killers which i since fitted as the neighbours almost had a heart attack when she starts, the cans aint road legal but the DB killers are stamped so not sure wether i'm legal or not :)

Hot topic I think.

The DB killers are legal for noise, but whether or not they satisfy Construction and Use is another thing. Cans arent meant to be strippable if theyre road legal... I recall being told by a Portuguese mate of mine.. Which is why my road legal cans on the TT600 (Rene can btw) arent road legal.. because theyre strippable! which is why Jorge didnt stamp em up.
I hasten to add Rene roadlegals are roadlegal, but mine are special one offs :smt019

Saying all that though, the laws kinda slipped about a bit since I had 'em fitted!

Beowulf gold shade titanium ovals fitted nearly 2 years ago, baffles left in, K&N filter fitted at same time, no other adjustments, runs perfect and flat spot gone. Very pleased with them, but if I'm honest they are loud! Would not wan't to take the baffles out, sound great as they are and legally stamped!
Seriously pisses off the son in law though. Had a Beowulf stainless oval on his old CBR6 and now has an Aka system on his 2002 R6, but can't hear either bike when out with me!
Next door but one neighbour has a Faser 1000 late original version on a scorpion can, but also gets pissed off when I go up the road cos he reckons mine sounds like a real bike!
Couldn't put it better!
Also got a special deal on 'em so got them at half the price I'd been quoted for Blue Flame titanium ovals.
So you could say I'm pretty happy with mine as Morph mentioned earlier!

oh I am pleased with the cans

BUT

as I am getting another tank anyway, and it will need painting, I thought I may just do a little change to the tank, and that may not go with the existing pipes....

(Is a colour thing - I may decide that the CF look is more in keeping with the bike if that makes sense)

and does any one have a link to the working renegade website - am stuck on the work pc atm and do not have all my favourites to hand as i want to browse.....

I think it was 3-5k on the Rene cans and systems that were running CF sleeves.

Strip the cans down,, wire wool round the centre pipe (that partially deadens the sound, or at least you can play with the tune it makes with the amount of wire wool and it's tightness..) then the wadding round the outside of that. :smt001

I'll try and find an article on repacking (there are some out there for rene cans) however I'd offer that with a bit of realignment to suit the can build( ie rivets or not) will apply to most

*edit*

See here:

While Im being geeky..

The flat mat stuff is better than the loose fluffy crap, as it holds together better and resists the pulses from your large thumpin' Vees...

You'd need more than that though.... :smt005

You may remember Jorge was on RS earlier last month reference the race court case thing? He moved back to Portugal the other year and what with the move and the bloody court case, Renegade's website has been neglected somewhat. Unfortunate. Very unfortunate. :smt011

Dont be put off by the price though. Theyre handmade cans, not mass produced tat. (I'll refrain from the sales pitch though!) Theyre no more expensive than some of the other high end manufacturers however :smt002

Anyway, sorry, thread derailed with talk of cans and repacking! Sorry!! :smt009

Yep, the Leo Vince is shite in comparison with the Renegades and as for the standard, well Singer sewing machine springs to mind. :smt009

Wow talking of Remus, these don't come up at this price very often and need no chip, they retailed at over £580 + VAT for a pair when I bought mine three years ago!
The not for road use is only etched not stamped :smt003

Anyone know what make mine are?...
They were on when I got the bike and dont have any markings at all.
Image
Sorry about the picture size; S'just so ya can see em clearly. I posted this question on the old site way back when and nobody could identify em...
They seem better built than the last Micron system I bought fer my zx6r and are unusual, to me at least, in that the endcaps are under the sleeve, rather than the other way around!
That make sense? :smt017
Also, another first that Ive seen, is the can straps are in two pieces; Bolted together underneath as well as at the footpeg mount.
I like em, though I would prefer a slightly phatter/rounder sound as they can be a little raspy at higher revs.
Any ideas? :smt009

Oh n thats what I call chicken strips... :smt002

Actually, I am interested in those remus cans - and hate to upset people, but suffolk plod are now giving out tickets if you do not have a BS or EU stamp on the cans - may have been just one vindictive bugger but has happened recently in lowestoft

Sure I read recently that there has been a change and that cans no longer need to be stamped as approved - just "not for road use" if they're not.
Thing is, I can't remember where I saw this ..... and I'd not base a case for the defence on me thinking that I remembered something.

If I find more info, I'll let you know.
