More likely Hooked (or DIY) - renegade doesn't have the mounting for the breather - at least mine doesnt.

Mine had the aperture pre cut

(But as a notch to the side)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

It's meant to be a renegade or that's how I bought it. Well the member I bought it off thought it was either a renegade or a renegade style anyway.
That's one of my pics off my photobucket but I can't remember posting that picture anywhere lol
Either way it's damm loud and works well :smt001

Just an idea, I've not overly thought this through so feel free to laugh at this suggestion. All this talk of airbox mods has made me think of this but it may not work.
What if you were to take a standard airbox and cut away everything just leaving the base like a renegade kit then using a px300 piper cross air filter just bolt it into place the same as the renegade???
Probably wouldn't work but I'm off to glance at my spare box to see if in theory it could work.
This idea has just come to me so if in 10 minutes I look at the spare box and see it's totally nonsense. Then please forgive lol

Airbox...

#20 Post by GregD-UK » Sat Oct 19, 2013 3:21 pm

Hi all,

Zoidberg, can you take a closer pic of where your breather tube from the rear cylinder goes onto your TB's please :)

Mine goes onto the air filter on the other side of my renegade. Where does the tube/pipe go off your little filter go?

Looks like some have minor changes in fitments I guess.

Cheers...
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

It's not mine it's from Shetland woody photobucket.

I'd like some dimensions as I might be able to have some made.

I rather think the airbox bottom would restrict airflow and would be hard to fit a piper cross air filter I fear

A good idea, but the renegade plate isn't flat it's contoured to fit over the rear rocker cover and bits and bobs, really you'd need the renegade kit to take a mould from....I think

Not starting an argument, just asking, but how would the standard airbox bottom restrict airflow any more than a renegade kit would "or doesn't " and the air filter has two tangs that could be screwed/ bolted into place there must be some sort of fixing that could be used apposed to just screwing it down into the plastic....runs off and hides

120+ just seems too expensive for some tin plate and a piper cross filter.

Had a look at the spare box, and one things for sure I don't think it would work too well with the "sump" oil catch bit next to where the trumpets bolt on at. Oh well a short lived idea.

This may answer a couple of questions about the slight differences with the airkit

The problem with the bottom of the standard air box is that it isn't flat and you'd never seal a pipercross filter to it ..... Just take a look in there ......
