very I think you will find most of us are pretty impressed with the reliability etc. Things I know I've done ... put the tip over sensor in the wrong way up
If its the flooding one of the members or the search will reveal ways round that better than my fumbling words but cleaning and checking the plugs may give a clue.
if the bike is getting power and just not firing then it at least should help narrow things down... sorry if I am not being much help buut was anything changed from when you got the bike ? was there any aftermarket parts that may have been removed and are affecting the running ?
Is there fresh fuel in the bike as old crappy fuel can cause problems so may be worth draining if it is old and refill with fresh
did it have an alrm on it that wasn't removed properly ?

Have you removed the air box whilst trying to start the bike?
Question 2
Did your fit your chip to my ECU that I loaned you.
Question 3
Did you smell a strong smell of petrol when you was cranking the bike over from the exhaust.
Question 4
What eprom "chip" have you got fitted to your ECU
Question 5
Did you here the noises you described when you had fitted the ECU I loaned you but not when you had yours fitted.
Just to let you know the ECU I loaned you has the mille chip fitted so it won't be in tune with your set up.
Re fit you ECU to the bike and remove the air box.
Do not turn the fast idle "choke" on, leave it in the off position.
Open the throttle fully (Do not open and close the throttle) and with the tank propped up away from the T/B's try to start the bike.
If you get a good smell of petrol and a back fire from your throttle bodies the engine will be flooding.
The back fire will indicate the bike is trying to start.
If this happens remove your plugs and dry and refit them.
Open the throttle fully and try again. Let us know what happens and the answer to my questions fella

Slapping noises as if something were attached to a the cam as it's spinning round hitting the head on its way round (I know thats not it) - I could take a video but I'm so sick of it I just want it gone.
It's not sparking.
Just bought a Falco :)
If it sounds as though it is at the top of the head it could be a cam chain tensioner. If they have sat for a while then can be a bit rickety until oil builds up again (they are hydraulic chain tensioners after all). Has the battery been replaced?
It's probably the #1 cause of non-starting falco's. Even if it turns the starter motor, it might not be providing enough power to create a strong spark.
Earlier on in the year i was absolutely convinced that the battery was fine because it would turn over perfectly. But it would not start. Replaced the battery and then it started up instantly.

I was convinced mine had a dodgy starter relay or bad wiring - ended up having to ditch it in a mates garage over the winter as i took a new job abroad. while I was away the 'friend' jumped it of his car battery - well bugger me if it did't start right up. I've since been home, bought an uprated gel battery and she's starting up a beaut at the mo. Morale of the story - never discount a bad battery, even if its cranking over ok.
I've been in the same place as you mate, I've considered breaking it for spares and just breaking it in general, I just have to keep going and hoping it'll come good one day - I have had some very, very good days on it when it all came together and was, well, magical. My bro rode it on one of those days, got home and immediately put his GSXR 1000 K4 up for sale because the Falco made it feel so.... ordinary.
