It could be:
- * some problem in the starter switch shorting to earth (eg to the bars)
* Wiring between the starter switch and the starter relay shorting to earth (insulation gone)
* Wiring on the power side between the starter relay and the starter motor shorting to earth (insulation gone)
* Starter motor windings shorted out (the manual might tell you what impedance you should expect from a good starter)
* Starter motor jammed and not spinning (therefore generating no back-emf and huge current flowing)
