Mille Swingarm and Falco Exhausts - Clearance

#1 Post by mickt1964 » Sun Aug 19, 2012 3:34 pm

Fitted my twin Ackro's back on my Falco today and noted that the left had exhausts fouls the Mille swingarm I have fitted.
What I have done is made a longer spacer for the footrest mount to push the exhaust out slightly giving about a 10mm clearance.
I realise the swingarm was not designed for twin exhausts, so my question is what is the best method of getting around this problem or should I not have a problem?

Second question, what is involved in making the falco and 2 into 1 as per the mille?
Does the Mille link pipe from the headers to the exhaust can fit straight onto the Falco headers?

Cheers All

To get around the exsaust fouling the arm a spacer is a good idea.
To change to a mille exsaust system there is two ways of doing this....One is to fit a mille oil tank and a mille collector or you can do this

Err no Jay - wrong link. That's the Mille system with only balance pipes added - still requires the mille oil tank etc.

The one for which Greg can sort out to mate with the Falco headers and avoid the oil tank is subtly different.
Greg has this on his bike, I have it on mine, I think Jay has it on his and Cornish Mafia on his ..... becoming far too common !

10mm clearance is fine, thats probably about what i have now. I made spacers too but i found they were so thick they just did not look right. I removed the mid section and heated it with a blow torch till red hot then ever so carefully i bent the left side out a bit at a time then refitted and checked, i did this 4 times until i was happy with how the cans looked. Thats one option :smt001
