Just got these nice tyres fitted onto the wheels today and nearly took the front one back as it appeared to be on the wrong way round.

HOWEVER a quick look on the Conti website and there is mention there that the arrows on the tread should be ignored and the arrow on the sidewall is the one to go with. It doesn't look right as the grooves are running opposite to the rear tyre but I suppose they know what they are talking about

Does anyone out there have these fitted in this way?

I wouldn't be surprised if the tread runs the oposite way front and back. Greatest forces at the back come from driving power under accelleration whereas greatest forces at the front come from braking.

Don't know whether this explains it but it has some logic to it.

As for the 'reverse' tread, Yes. Ive seen and heard of it. It's right!

I think they are great tyres.... not that I've tried many other modern 17 inch radial things. I just had another rear fitted today I can't say I've noticed the tread direction as such. It’s the arrow on the side that counts and yes the front takes braking load in the opposite direction of the driving rear, so maybe the tread should appear opposite

is as you describe - the arrow on the sidewall is the one to go by - the other tread arrow does seem to be wrong, but, yes, they work fine

One thing I will say - let these tires warm a bit before caning them..... I know that all would take care but I tend to let the tires get nicely warm before giving it large - like at least 10 miles seems to be right

Good News - Found my missing spacer, it fell into the pit in my garage so got the wheels back on the bike now and going out for a blast later to try out the new tyres

I love Conti Road Attacks. Had them on my last Gixer and fitted them to my first Falco. Will be fitting them to this Falco when the front needs replacing and can fit a pair. I found them very confidence inspiring and the wear rate is great...and even. Ample grip and feel for a trackday and fab on the roads.

Funky tread pattern but go by the directional indicator on the side wall.

Why, do they take long before they worm up?

imo - yes

when cold they slip/slide over white lines, they don't when warm

but, having said that, I would say that is the same for any tire - I just feel that these take more than a mile or two to get nice and sticky
