Aprilia Tankbag - Help please

Hi folks. Won one of these beauties on the fleab but it doesn't have the peg thing that fits in the steering head. ( I did know this on bidding BTW)

I figure I can come up with something so can someone post up a piccie of one so I can have a go.

I know Aladinsane has one and when I next see him I'll take a look but in the meantime..........

very simple to work around

find a rawl bolt of roughly the same size

find either an alloy blank of approx 1.5 cm or enough washers to make an equivalent space

put washers or blank over the bolt - then insert and tighten

Finally, get your bones to mcdogburgers in the morning to see mine :)

(Failing that call aprilia yorkshire for the right part... a couple of quid tops....)

Strewth, the things we can do nowadays

My phone doesn't do pictures, video, mp3, VHS, Wi Fi, 4 track stereo, DVD, Blue anything or coffee ( although I would like to see that) so a piccie on here would be appreciated.

I always wondered what that thing was on my bike,

I dont have the tank bag and no one seemed to know what it was. If I knew how to remove it someone may have a use

Undo the nut then give it a tap on the top to release the taper lock

Then try levering it out from under the bottom flange. If you pull from the top bit you'll lock the taper again.

I know have the item in my hand. Fausto you have PM. Bike looks a bit bare without it is there something (a cap?) that normally goes over the hole?

Yup - afraid it's all a bit plain jane as standard. I'm sure Halfords sell a compass or something that could go there
