i would draw up your list of what has been rated highly by folk - then shop too see actual costs - then decide
I have bridgestone BT021s fitted to my mercury grey.....
Summer riding i think they are awsome.
Winter riding i can not quote has i am what they call a fair weather biker

Tolerance will be our undoing.

christ, I know its grim up north, but they still have steam vans???
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I have michelin's on mine, purchased like it.
I ride all year round I have no complaints about the michelins.
I usually always ride bridgestones, have done for years and years
they've always been fabulous tyres.
Generally the sport-touring number.

The avon storms let go on me yesterday, half way round a corner, with the throttle about half open.
They seem to be a lot less grippy this year than they were last year.

and the year before that?

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

I'm sure you'll be delighted, if not gobsmacked by them. I'm a life-long Michelin man and have always been dismissive of Dunlop, but I can't fault the Roadsmarts.
So much so that I have a set of Sportsmarts waiting to fit to my newly powder-coated Oz rims. (When they come back).
