I took the bike out last night for the first time since fitting the stand; I noticed one thing that is a small problem.
The kick down spigot is shorter on the VTR and finding the side stand when sitting on the bike is a pain, especially with boots on.

I will look to find a way of setting it away from the bike or extending it slightly.

Apart from that it was fine and it did not cut out or stop the bike in motion so the electrics are sorted.

subtle application of a birmingham screwdriver will help adjust the kick down lever to a better position....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

A basic rule of life : If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. :smt003
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I've a Gixer stand - I move it by kicking down on the stand itself as I never find the prong on it.

Not sure if that's more difficult if you have an exhaust on that side - though I don't remember any problems when I had twin exhausts.

that leg does sit to snug under the exhaust to do that andy

bend the kick down lever out with a hammer and all is dandy

(May want to do it on a vice rather than while on the bike though...)

Just fitted a 98 firestorm stand, sourced from evilbay for a very good price :smt003 , I drilled a new hole for the switch, easy life, as for the spigot to kick the stand down that seemed to be in the correct place already. On the original chocolate stand my bike leaned a bit toooooooo far over for my liking, now a far better angle of dangle, no niggling worries about leaving a vertical bike and returning to a horizontal one!!!! :smt013 The firestorm item feels and looks far superior and gives more confidence. It was a very straightforward fix, so 15T front done, cans done, stand done, original blue shock seems to be ok so far, even after the ohlins on my Mille "R". Christmas soon, list to prepare.
Old age pensioners, hah, should be shot at birth!!!.

Two in Newcastle and one in Durham, nearly enough for an area group :smt003
