Diode mod (back of clocks)
Where would a guide to that be? Seem to remember it was on AF1? Save me taking my clocks to bits to see how I did it.

Re: Diode mod (back of clocks)
I'd done one on here (well it was in a thread in the technical section about indicators and I'd not quite finished everything in it) ...... However, it seems that those awfully nice people at Jet Screenshot have taken it upon themselves to delete all the diagrams I put together - bastards!!Nooj wrote:Where would a guide to that be? I think I'll be forgetting jet-screenshot from now on!
What did you want to know?

Which wires the diodes go onto, and which way round they need to be. And which diodes to use, 1N4001 rings a bell (no circuitry pun intended).

The repeater bulb is the one in the dash (you can get the pin number from the workshop manual)
1N4001 diodes should be fine - almost any small signal diode will be OK for this.
This is how the repeater is wired with the standard bulbs - so it's fairly obvious what you need to do:

Don't worry about the current flow arrows - they are referred to in my explanation of how things work in the thread that I never finished.

Excellent work Mr. Drider, just what I was looking for!
Still in the very early R&D stages Mr. Sane, will be a while yet. Have SORNed mine in preparation for experiments. As well as your idea I'm thinking of working up something rather special, maybe in carbon fibre, but it will be expensive, couple of hundred quid at least I'd have thought.
