The examiner sat on the bike and explained:
when full lock to the right the steering was fine but full lock to the left it was going back to the tank(just)
he said it needed adjusting slightly, but I have no idea how.

Certainly do the checks that backmarker suggests and as transparent_opacity suggests that you don't have misaligned switchgear - or even a bent or misaligned clipon (maybe the bolt has come out that screws into he underside of the top yoke).
If you think all is OK, it might be worth going for a second opinion - ie trying another MOT station.

Snap, I was in the same position. Loosen the switch gear, rotate it a few degrees so it doesn't touch, then go and resubmit the bike for a free re-testmrapriliafalco wrote:Thats exactly whats happening to mine,if the switch gear touches the tank its a failurejoecrx wrote:just checked mine ,when my bars are full left the horn button just touches the tank when on right turn the switches are clear from the tank ,
is this a common think ?

Sounds like your talking from experienceFalcopops wrote:Under the bar there is a little retaining bolt. Take that out.
Loosen the clip on and rotate forward so it clears the tank and tighten.
Check it's not fouling the fairing on the other lock.
If it's all good get it MOT'd then set ti back the way it was after.
