Hey all,
Looks like my Falco has eaten another rear shock absorber oil seal. I only had one replaced 18 months ago - and I've done bugger all riding since then.
All I can without getting myself banned is "I'm not happy at all!"
Well... Bugger.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.
They said they stripped it down to put the new seal in, so I guess so.Falcopops wrote:Did they service the shock when it was repaired the last time? Might be worth taking back and complaining.
I'm wondering if there's a sharp bit on the shaft / rod that's cutting the seal. Or something to do with our cold weather...
What makes it more confusing is that there wasn't any sign of an oil leak the other week, yet there was a big puddle of oil under the bike (and yes, there was buckets of oil all over the bottom of the shock - I did check!) yesterday.
Either way, I need a set of axle stands or something to hold the bike up whilst I pull the shock out... Just as well it's pay week, eh??
