High level link pipes ala street fighter

#1 Post by Falconihlist » Wed Apr 13, 2011 4:22 pm

anyone know where I can get some link pipes made up for a reasonable price? I did use search, but the word "exhaust" happens to pick up on a certain signature :smt017

As an aside, is there any specific reason both the mid pipes meet up, or would there be benefits in having totally seperate pipes?

Well .... Worms in a can....

I think fuel have done some work for Andy in the past.....

Unless you can find a set of falco High mount cans, I would consider the Mille full system - more options then

With regard to the siamesed mid section .... Not much you can do with the falco pipes.... The Mille mid section allows for balance pipes....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I do like the system, especially the one you have set up on yours, but I think I may run into problems with the swingarm clearance. I am going to have to get the tape measure out on that. I do like the look of a twin setup though :smt003

No - I bought my can from them (at the NEC a few years back). I asked them to supply both high and standard mount link pipes so that I could have the choice but both of these were their standard Mille items (for my Mille 2:1 exhaust)

Andy, have you got two of the same link pipes, or are they different for each side? I've just measured the clearances for fitting an 04 swingarm, and it is going to be too tight to have a pipe crossing under the seat.

My exhausts are different on each side ....... on the right I have an exhaust ..... on the left I don't .....
:smt002

Reasons I went for a 2:1 exhaust:
  • I like the look
I like the fact that it doesn't hide the nice Mille swingarm on the left side
Reduced cost of cans (I only need to buy 1)
Better choice of cans (everyone makes them for the Mille
I guess it weighs a bit less - allowing me greater pie consumption

That's why I like this forum, no conformity to anything in particular, and practical answers

Right then, time to inform SWMBO that the living room is being turned into a garage next month and that the pets are on the cheap stuff for the next month.

but for those of us with a svelte figure

a 2 into 1 into 2 is a better system... IMHO

the mille option does give more choice in aftermarket cans

and it really freaks mille owners out when you start measuring their donor bikes...

I'd try an exhaust specialist. a quick look on line came up with these :-

http://www.osmc.co.uk/

http://www.zorstec.net/ Good outfit, I've used them but they can sometimes be a bit pricey

http://www.flatoutmotorsport.com/custom ... hausts.htm

I'm sure there will be lots of others but these guys can make simple link pipes very quickly (well I know Andy @ Zorstec can)
