New Owner.

#1 Post by greybika » Tue Apr 12, 2011 4:11 pm

Proud owner of a Falco since Saturday.

Now how can I reduce the big twin vibes at M-Way speeds??
They seem worse through the right bar, peg and mirror (but I can't see anything through the n/s mirror either!).

gotta go....sun's shining :)

Hi,

Welcome, you might want too check and see if the vibration bar is still in the right hand handle :smt002 Could of had some damage on the right side, check the tightness of all components on the right I guess....

Could change the gearing if you do alot of miles on the M'way.
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

Hi and welcome :smt006 I'm guessing you've got Dusty's old bike - all the way from Scotland.

Don't really have any vibration issues myself - mirrors are fine all the time - so can't really help you there.

Where in the Midlands are you? ..... there are a good number of us in the general area.

Welcome

I would also check the right bar and other mounts

What's your credit rating?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Howdy,

Resonance is usually greater at a certain speed, my scientifically tried and tested method is to ride faster until you get to a point where either the vibration stops or you're so shit scared you don't notice the vibration anymore.

Enjoy your new bike.

Thanks for the warm welcome :smt006

Answers in no particular order.

I'm in Worcestershire.
D-Rider Yes it is 'Dusty's' bike.
I do have a shopping list ;)
@Falcopops Tried that lol!
GregD No no damage.Ever

The vibes aren't of major concern, I had a VTR for many years so they're not unexpected, just unwelcome.

Looking forward to many years of ownership with this one, now where's my plastic?

Unfortunately I can't make the May weekend, but hope to get to at least one of the meets this year!

Not far from Cleobury... on the Kidderminster side.

Have you got proper steel bar-end weights, or the silly aluminium ones? Steel ones are factory fitted for a reason :-)
