if you look in the lathe pic, you can just see the handle to the fly press on the right side of the picture.. or.. even better in this pic

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Seeing all those machines takes me back to my toolmaking days, now I just sit at a computer and draw sh*t all day
The best thing is willopotomas is that when you make parts for your bike, you're getting paid to do it too

Some of the time.. Depends what's on. Usually I'm there till late or for a day over the weekend getting stuff done. The 'foreign' order book is looking healthier than the normal works one..lol..

How about drawing up a set of these subframe spacers? I'd be interested in a set if they ever got made.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

No problem, I can draw them up at work (always good to get paid to draw bike bits

)
there are 3 problems with that picture though, 1) you'll end up with a 1" gap in front of the seat, 2) Not sure I like the idea of having 2 knuckles holding me onto the bike (unless they go behind the frame and bolt onto something else) and 3) what sort of person modifies the subframe and still leaves the stock shock on there??
Personally I'd have bumped the top one against the frame like this to remove any chance of it twisting down.

Can I arsk a stoopid question or two. Buts what does a lathe do? And what does a mill do.
The reason I ask is that I would like a paper weight made with a logo either embossed or sticky out. Either as a cube or as a cyclinder. Would these 'machines' do this?
Also, what does a duck do?

A lathe spins the work, a mill spins the cutter

Aha, so it's not likely that they'd do what I've after then.
What about the duck?

A meal for two, usually, depends on how you cook it.

An alternative would be to make each side from a single piece that attaches to both top and bottom rear subframe mounting points. That would certainly stop any twisting.

You could do it, but you'd need a CNC mill to emboss it, mine is just manual and I'm not rolf harris.
Ducks just quack and eat bread
