fitted new seal to fuel pump assy after original started leaking fitted tank tried to start engine runs maybe 2 secs then stops, wait awhile try again same thing any clues or ideas

Hmm - well2 secs is too short to be the fuel tank breather and it does start so sounds as though you've got sparks.
How old is the fuel and how much have you got in the tank?
Any chance the fuel filter has got blocked?
Did you have the tank off to do this? If so, did you move the tip over sensor and not get it fitted back at the right angle and the vibes are causing it to cut out?
I'll scratch my head a bit more and see what comes out ... (probably the remaining hair

new fuel new fuel lines pump appears to operate ,where is the filter fitted also the tilt switch
Fuel filter is in the tank (I believe - never needed to investigate yet)
The tip over sensor is just behind the tank under the rider's seat.
Not unkown to be removed and not hooked back properly onto it's mounting

sorrry for long delay in reply thanks for suggestions it was the tilt switch i moved it didnt know what it was do now though
