Suggestions for a resevoir cap?

#1 Post by HisNibbs » Mon Mar 14, 2011 11:46 pm

Looking for a replacement front master cylinder cap. Mines a bit tatty so a little bling might be in order. Nothing too over the top mind, this is a go not show model after all........ :smt001
Any suggestions?

See what Oberon have got.

Or there's always Pro-Bolt :-)

Average £20 per cap or there abouts, depending on size. 5% discount from me, don't forget.

Saw some oberon ones on ebay the other night.

Mine's really tatty too - I was thinking of cleaning it up and painting it.

Tape a colour changing LED to a 3v calculator battery (watch polarity) and wrap tightly in an unlubricated condom, place in reservoir, cover reservoir with a second unlubricated condom and zip tie in place.

Voila flashy fluid reservoir.

Shouldn't be too bling for you, bet your girls would like it, just tell them they are special motocycle baloons for improved performance. If they don't ask what they are then you should be asking the questions!

Think somebody mosty have tried that on the clutch cylinder on mine and sprayed it with the cap off.
Could explain the BLACK fluid!
Then again it could just be a Falco.................... they all do that! :smt003

I am also looking for a new cap or two, to replace mine.

You could be right, Howard! I changed my clutch fluid at the weekend and I'm convinced it's blackening already.

Think this link should work, guy in the US where I bought mine from a year ago, was very quick shipping, now seems to do them as a set of 3 only did sets of 2 when I got mine.

Worth a look, you pays your money & takes your choise.

With shipping think this works out roughly £30 for the set of 3

You can buy the whole master cylinder including cap for about a tenner from the Rocket centre in Blackburn . The smaller clutch & rear brake master cylinders are about £5-6 each as well

They sell regularly on fleabay

I bought my Gold covers for the Falco from this bloke and the delivery was super quick and no import duty to pay. Quality isn't as good as Oberon but absolutely fine for £30

They are a real bargain
