PAINT CODES FOR BRONZE?

#1 Post by stivesvelo » Sat Oct 30, 2010 2:48 pm

Hi, anyone know the paint code for the black & bronze color, it's on sorn & I'm having a 'fiddle'?

Also just took the air box off to change cables & notice a fair amount of oil floating around, is this normal as I cleaned it out about 2.5k mls ago when I gave it a service (bought it earlier in the year) & changed filters etc. she runs fine & doesn't seem to be using oil, also doesn't smoke, so I'm wondering if there could be a breathing problem or something more dire?

All clues welcome.

Also looking for a hugger if anyone wishes to dispose of one, also a top fairing which I may chop if anyone wishes to dispose of a surplus to requirements one cheap :o)

quite normal, make sure you hav'nt got to much oil though. i tend to keep mine below max and don't really have a problem with this.

No official paint codes but a couple of dealers on eBay are ok

And finding a spare fairing to chop.... Good luck!

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Thanks for the replies,

apologies for being silent for so long, I hadn't been ignoring you, I just couldn't log in for some reason (senior moments, couldn't remember my login, tried every variation I could think of ......but still no luck, just managed to get in again but not sure which variation of password I used.....arggggghhh!)

Managed to get part way through fitting the new fairing kit, just need to make a couple of new spacers so that I can use the current belly pan & get things painted & we should be there.

Just in case anyone gets one of the official streetfighter fairing & yoke/handlebar kits, you WILL need a new clutch hose & throttle cables to get everything to fit properly, I had picked up a copy of a US fitting rundown but they advised that 2" extra on the cables was perfect.........NOT so, they need +3" to allow just a little freedom to move.

Ah, I hear the sound of food so will finish here for the moment.if I can get any decent pictures I'll post them up as things progress/finish.
