RSV injector bodies
Does anyone know how much these normally cost, and is it any of the ones off 98-04 RSV's that will fit and speed up the bird? Are these the elusive 54mm throttle bodies I've heard about (this is actually the first injected bike I've ever owned, I'm still old school carbs.

I was just curious as I'd seen a set on e-bay from the same people I just got a RSV rear shock from.
Got plenty of jobs stacking up for the Falco now, new shock once I've had it serviced (can anyone recommend a good company), new sidestand (I've chanced it long enough with the old one), new set of machined levers, finishing up my adaptor blocks to fit RSV indicator mirros and make a new tail tidy to fit some smaller rear indicators.

I'm going to make some blocks. I did think about buying a set fomr the guy on the american forum for $100 a set, but I think I'll just make my own.
Going for a slightly different design to his, he makes a block which goes under the complete indicator, I'm going to unscrew the bottom section and make a longer block, it should be a lot easier. I'll post some pics if I ever get round to them

i think you will find that the later milles had 57mm throttle bodies and are not much use for the falco - would need different injectors or adapters or something else - and the actual performance gain is negligable compared to the 54 bodies
the 54mm throttle bodies are made by boring out the standard 51 bodies - and then machining a butterfly or something... oh, and then getting some new velocity stacks
i know that D=Rider cannot see this forum at his work place, but am certain he will be along later with the contact details of who can do the work
i also feel that to get the best from the 54 throttle bodies you will need a chip change, PC3, open airbox and decent exhausts
they do give the bike a hell of a lot of oomph though :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Yes 54s are bored 51s - Aprilia never made such things.
Somewhere on here are details of a place that said they could convert them for you.
TBH I wouldn't bother as I contacted them and they were hopeless at communicating. Gave up in the end.
Bear in mind that you'll also need 54mm velocity stacks to go with them.
I have heard that 57s will work OK on the falco if set up right (and with the necessary connector mods) - though they give no performance benefit over the 54s on a Falco (due to limitations with the Falcos heads - valve sizes and cams) ..... though late model RSVR heads will fit .....
BTW I do have a couple of spare sets of 51mm TBs if anyone is interested.
