My falco is playing up...

#1 Post by Dalemac » Sat Sep 11, 2010 10:46 pm

Hi guys,

im loking for a it of advice, over the past few weeks my bike has been acting weird. It started out being noisy when changing gear, although it happens mostly going down the box. it had a minor service a couple of months ago and has only done about 800 miles since. Its also starting to stall around town, when the engine is getting a bit warm.

It probably needs the throttle bodies balancing(no idea - only done carbs before) but the clunky gear changes? i dont have a clue.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dale

bleed the clutch....

also - when you did the minor service, did you change the oil.... if so what too?

and oil level ok?

finally, clean/lube/adust gear change linkage

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

good point - havent done that, not sure why actually. maybe because its the only bike i have had with a god damn hydraulic clutch....

Yep, oil and filter, it was a castrol semi synth 10w40 if i remember correctly.....and the oil level is fine.

Havent adjusted the gear change linkage either, will do that too...

i cant touch the bike for another week though, dont move back in to my uni accomodation until the 18th(thaats where all my tools are :( )

How would you advice i go about adjusting the throttle bodies?

Read the workshop manual and use a carbtune.
