white spring shock
Been to rev,s suspension today, got my shock back. is anything i should adjust like ride height or just put it in and see?

its actually shaping up quite well - norfolk that is - looks like we will have a fair few folk attending, I have acquired a fridge and do have a makro card for assorted bits of dead animal
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
You had a Laverda Jota? I'm green. As a teenage motorcyclist, I used to dream of owning an orange Jota one day. They were always fun to watch in the Production Races at our local club circuits, and that sound was just amazing.Never did own one, so I'd love to hear what you thought about it. Probably shouldn't hijack this thread though; sorry!

When I fitted mine I started off setting it a bit higher than I had it set with the old Blue Spring shock, seem to remember it was about an extra 1/4" to 1/2" up on the threads, (which is obviously more than that at the seat).
My reasons were more about leg length than handfling. I set the compression and rebound damping same as stock Mille, which are quite stiff then anyway, and set the sag once on the bike. It was supposed to be a starter setting, to change later but worked for me so I left it.
I am over 15st so if you are lighter you may need to back off the settings a bit.
Then try it and see how you go.
Did you get the Schrader valve recessed as part of the rebuild, if you did it will be an easy fit as you won't have clearance problems.
Good luck with it, you will notice the improvement!

Ste, I would really like to know how you get on with the white spring shock. I bought one at the start of the year, full of enthusiasm to get it fitted...
...But didn't. I took the spring off and gave it a good clean, but couldn't tell how good it was so decided to get it serviced. And there the story ends really. I looked at Revs' web site and decided to take it to them, but just haven't found an excuse or time to go up Brum direction.
I need convincing to do it and (as a jock) to spend the money.
That's a point how much did Revs charge, and did it include the flush valve thingy?

I fitted my White Spring shock in November 2006, bought cheap but looked superb, so fitted without any refurbishment. I was told it was almost new as the owner had swapped for an Ohlins, when nearly new, it came in the Ohlins box.
12k miles on, it is still working fine.
My only problem was cutting down the Schrader valve.
It doesn't take long to fit, why not just try it?

well worth having the shock done, made a big change to the bike. only problem i,ve got is one bearing is u/s on the link arm, so not set up at the mo,as nooj said on sunday at griff,s it,s seen sum action but still did a good job on it. good to meet nooj and falken. price for shock £85 with valve done and free set up when i go back, but haveing forks done first.
