Anyone used Oxford Sports Panniers ?

#1 Post by Fausto » Wed Feb 21, 2007 4:57 pm

Just got a pair off of fleabay and had a play out in the garden this afternoon. Felt like spring by the way :smt004 :smt004

No instructions of course but I believe that of the 3 broad velcro straps that connect the panniers the centre one goes under the rear seat and the other (outer) 2 go over the seat.

Then I attached the front lower strap to the rear footpeg hangers and will get a bungee to fix the rear lower strap mounts to something.

Seems fairly secure and will do a roadtest soon. Anybody know if I'm doing this wrong?

Anyone got any horror stories to share and get me all worried :smt012

I go the other way ie: the broad one over the seat hump and the two others underneath, but then I might be doing it wrong as I didn't get any instructions either! and come to think of it it would be easier the way your doing it. Doh!

Anyway this way has worked fine for me with plenty of miles now done and no problems at all, stable at speed and provided you bungy them on properley to stop them flapping about, I don't notice there even there

I noticed that the centre strap is attached to the bags 50mm lower than the others so assumed that one went underneath.

Quite possibly the design has changed over the years. I believe mine to be from 2004.
