I'd not really noticed before that the reservoir brackets mount on the clipons.
So, I had a think while out and about today ............

I think I'd make up some new brackets to fit to the tapped bosses that are on the brake and clutch lever master cylinder castings. I expect that's why brembo put those lugs there in the first place

Good plan D-Rider. I like your style! I've just had a butchers and those threaded mountings will be ideal. I'll get some offcuts of steel from the skip round the back of the local engineering works and see if I can knock something up...a bit of matt black paint and they'll look like they were meant to be there. I'll stick some pics up when I'm done (unless it's a right balls up :smt003 )
So, I had a think while out and about today ............
I tend to do most of my thinking on the loo these days...it seems to be the only chance I get. Now there's a lovely image to leave you with :smt003

Dogblue, is the clipon just bent? If it is get a length of scaffold pipe about 6 ft long, put the bars on the opposite lock to the bend, so you can push againt the lock stops, then place some rags round the clipon over the grip. Move the scaffold bar over the clipon up to where the bend starts and gently push againt the lock stop, this will bend the clipon back straight, dont go mad and bend it to far though :smt003

Clipons are a bit malleable and if its only a slight bend this works well and is much easier than replacing.

Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

I waited for a while to see if e-bay would come up trumps but nothing happened...so I went and ordered one from Aprilia :smt013 It only arrived this morning and I'll be sticking it on tomorrow. I know I should have waited but I was getting fed up with not be out on the bike. Thanks for finding that one for me though Joe.

The clip-ons that I got from e-bay were a bit too low for me when I offered 'em up so I decided so go for an o.e. one. That does mean that I've got a nice pair for sale if anyone wants to make me an offer? They are the ones that were linked too earlier in the thread (in annodised black). They're a slightly narrower diameter than the originals so the switch gear and throttle tube clamp may have to be shimmed a little bit.

Thanks for the straightening tips Scorpio, :smt023 sadly the bar actually snapped clean in half which makes me think it had probably been weakened before.

Oh well...you live and learn eh?

send the clipons back , if they are smaller in dia, then the grips wont fit, and be sure to tell them this , pity they do look good ,
i would expect a full refund including postage , if not report them to e bay for mis selling , youl soon get yur money back

Yeah, I'm gonna get in touch with the seller on Mon and let him know that none of the switchgear/throttle etc would tighten up and fit properly. I've never bought aftermarket clip-ons before and wasn't sure if some variation had to be accepted but I'll be asking for my hard-earned back.

On the plus side, I've got the new bar on and sorted (all went rather smoothly amazingly enough) :smt003 . I took the chance to drop the yoke another notch down the forks too. Didn't get a chance to test it this eve so I'm looking forward to seeing if I notice much difference on my commute in the morning.

Cheers again for the help!
