Should have spent £25

#1 Post by paddyz1 » Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:26 pm

I got a slow puncture this week. So i go to J&S to buy a repair kit and found out it costs £25. Bollocks to that, i am not paying that much, i will just keep a check on it especially as the tyre is close to being in need of replacement.

Today i was riding home from work and whatever caused the puncture came out and i got a flat tyre within seconds. All was well and i stopped without mishap.

While wating for the wife to turn up with a tyre pump a friend saw me and stopped, we had a chat and he went off to get a trailer.

We get it in the trailer (a horse box) but only had one strap so the bike was left on its side stand and the strap was over the seat holding the Falco in place.

We arrive at my place and we go to get the bike only to find the bloody stand had give way. It had bent forwards and the Falco was almost on its side with the tail fairing nicely wearing away on the side of the horse box right through the bi-cylindrico V-60 sticker.

So now as well as a new tyre i need a respray and a new sidestand.

The moral of the story is don't be a tight arse and buy the puncture repair kit.

I learnt my lesson today

Oh, bring back the good old days, when all you needed was a spare inner tube, tyre levers and a pump.

I remember when them cast wheels was all fields . . .
