I wasn't even a twinkle in my ma & pa's eyes!
Anyways I've got the fecking chain adjuster bolt out...loads of WD40, heat from a chefs blow torch and some very gentle persuasion! It was in a bit of a state, cleaned up though and with some grease slipped right back in, tuther one came out and got the same treatment.
Cheers all

Great news Oli - glad it's sorted.

Sorry to derail, but wtf does that mean? That's the first time I've ever seen someone use that smiley, still don't know what it's for!
I've used it a couple of times - I remember doing so as it was one I thought i'd never use but somehow I eventually found something vaguely appropriate for it.
It is quite a special one!

Glad you got it sorted. As a general rule, always replace bots with a smear of copaslip ont threads. What you have here is a case of "dissimilar metal corrosion" with the Alloy swing arm reacting with the steel cad plated adjuster bolt, with a little water thrown in over the years to act as an electrolyte.
