Rack arrived today, not bad at all :)
One thing I've noticed about the mounting. I was thinking about getting a tail tidy, but the rack is bolted to the stock snow shovel. From the assembly picture, it looks like you could still fit it with a TT with a little help from mr. hacksaw. Anyone tried this?

Somewhere, there was a DIY tail tidy posted up that mounted off of the standard bracket - but whereas the standard plate hangs down from this bracket, the tidy is mounted more centrally - half above, half below.
Not knowing quite how the rack mounts, I guess it may be possible to mount both rack and tidy from the bracket.

Hello all
Have any of you ridden with one of those padded top boxes on the pictured rack? If so is it safe for the wife to use as a back rest when loaded?
For those of you who recognise my name from previous post about CBF and Fazer etc. I'm back in the hunt for a Falco and am test riding one tomorrow in Aylesbury at On Yer Bike, so I may yet become a proper member

rose tinted specs have come off is what happened.
In the end I test rode the FZ1S, CB1000R and the CBF. Out of the 3 I still preferred the CBF for what I need to do and put the order in on Wednesday without giving a deposit. Wednesday night I started doing figures to see what the yearly cost would be with all running costs and repayment figures and it was double my annual season tickets costs (despite being 0%), so noo way I could justify it. Fuel alone is going to cost me nearly £2k for 18000 miles, tyres, servicing, you know the drill...
If I stick to £3 - 4k the running costs will be only slightly higher than the travelcard and depreciation nowhere near as bad, after 3 years the value of the bike (say £1500) will cover the extra spend over the season ticket.
Oh, and I saw a Falco in the flesh and moving while I was behind it in my car last Sunday (Salisbury bypass) and it looked bloody lovely and effortless to ride.
So I'll see how I get on tomorrow. Going to try some town riding as that is now going to my commute.
If I don't get on with it then will be trying a Gen 1 Fazer thou or a 900 Hornet. Failing those it's back to the 600s, maybe a CBR.
I wish I didn't like bikes, how may weeks have I been in turmoil!!!
