Glad to see you're reviewing your options and the options include keeping the Falco....

Buy an Aprilia Mana - then you don't need to worry about a clutch

My falco doesn't seem to have an overly difficult clutch. Its not noticably stiffer than my 1200 Bandit for example...
Isn't there some kind of servo assistance on the falco clutch? Maybe this mechanism has failed if you have a stiffy?

Or as they say in The Young Ones - has anyone done the stiffy joke yet?

I also found this on AF1 "You can also try to back the clutch master actuating pin out a little at a time until you get the feel you want. This pin resides between the clutch lever and the master. Remember to loosen the set screw (grub screw, worm screw,........) before trying to make the adjustment. If you back the pin out too much, your clutch will begin to drag."
Anyone tried this? The FZ1 clutch is fine in traffic, it's about 2/3rds the effort my old Falco, so I'm wondering whether the overly heavy clutch is a standard Falco thing or whether it was just mine and my next one might be fine.
.... well, I was going to, but I b#gger#d the allen socket in the grub screw trying to undo it.

I've an idea you're thinking about the pneumatic slipper clutch ... so no, not really.

I've found a description of the clutch in the specs in a few places:
Clutch - multiple discs in oil bath with servo-assisted hydraulic control Pneumatic Power Clutch.
I also found this descripion of the clutch action here:

The drive goes through Aprilia's unique vacuum-assisted clutch to the gearbox; the boosted clutch has very little feel but the system appreciably lightens lever pull. If you doubt that, hold the clutch in and switch off the motor with your right hand. The lever instantly kicks against your hand as the weight of pull almost doubles.

I haven't tested it myself - I'll try it at the weekend.
