That makes sense, I'm sure I've got Blue Vision H4s in my old CBR thou and they are OK but not that much better than standard. The Crystal Visions are around twice the price, but well worth i if they are as good as you say!

having dug out the packaging, it seems the xenon bulbs i bought were the cheaper variety - so they were not worth it - seems that the more you spend, the better the quality - but I still reckon that once you are getting to over 15 quid then you are in HID territory
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Mmmm, don't reckon there's any substitute for HID at the moment short of fitting much higher wattage filament bulbs, but then you're going to be asking too much of your wiring. Any new bulb will be better then one that's a few years old, so it's difficult to accurately compare any new ones to your existing one.

Not convinced - for main beams you want something with instant light - not an HID that brightens up gradually.Aladinsaneuk wrote:having dug out the packaging, it seems the xenon bulbs i bought were the cheaper variety - so they were not worth it - seems that the more you spend, the better the quality - but I still reckon that once you are getting to over 15 quid then you are in HID territory
HID dip is great when used with the wiring mod that doesn't switch it off when you turn on the mains, but main beams would be better with Xenons (IMHO).
Last time I looked you could get a pair of the Philips or Osram good ones for about £20 - doesn't seem so bad for rivalling the sun.
Yep - that's true.Nooj wrote: Any new bulb will be better then one that's a few years old, so it's difficult to accurately compare any new ones to your existing one.
..... but just to sicken you a bit more, I won my HID on ebay for about £23 (proper bike kit that had been on a Futura) .... this was back when the kits were costing about £100 new.TwinNut wrote: Funny thing is it probably cost me the price of an HID kit to arrive at this conclusion.......
.... the seller was a bit gutted too.

I think the best solution is hid dip with xenon full beam with the always on wiring mod
My hid cost 20 quid new via eBay and I cannot daily that price
Friend has just collected his new to him daytona with the expensive xenons fitted and they are good but not quite as good as my hid
So it does look like you pay your money and takes your choice lol

that is for a car - so would be two lights etc
choose the right bulbs that you need and then order - that was the first result btw - dig deeper and you will probably get cheaper

I bought half of Aladin's HID kit, so also paid £20. Cheaper (and you KNOW it's better
) than the bulbs in the e-bay link.
