just been to the vets

#1 Post by Steve_P » Sat Feb 28, 2009 4:55 pm

wanted a syringe to do my brakes, and asked the lady in the vets for one. She said she needed to know why I needed it, so I showed her my MPL instructions for bleeding my new slave and brakes, and explained I wasnt a junkie! She laughed then gave me a big syringe for free :smt001

I got a bleeding kit, but been told on here to reverse bleed it. Instead of pumping the lever and putting a tube on the nipple while tightening/untightening the the nipple, you inject fluid directly into the nipple and it forces it up into the resevoir at the lever. Air will want to go up not down, so you get a better job. Never heard of that technique before, but the idea makes sense to me.

quietly and totally unofficially i may be able to get some 50ml syringes and oxygen tubing for people....

let me know who wants stuff and i will try to acquire some bits for assorted meets in the year

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Definitely interested; I never seem to have enough of the right tubing. I don't really need any syringes, but count me in for some tubing.
