Saturday July 19th - Ride out

#1 Post by Nooj » Sun Jul 13, 2008 3:46 pm

Anyone doing anything? Got a few mates coming over from the Fazer forum, but not many, so thought I'd open it up on here as well.

Will be leaving my gaff in Newbury at about 10:00 - 10:30 for a chug around Berks, Hants, and Wilts. Stopping at a pub for food at about 12:00-13:00, then rolling off again for a few more miles before getting back to Newbury for late afternoon.

You then have a choice of sodding off home, or hanging around and coming out for a meal and a few bevvies with us, then crashing on our floor and going home on Sunday.

The pace will be fairly rapid, but not stupidly so, observing village and town speed limits. Distance will be about 120 miles over a mix of fast and twisty A, B and unclassified roads with a teeny bit dual cabbage ways between the more interesting bits.

I've purposely put this in here rather than events as I don't want hoards of strangers turning up, a few Falcos won't be a problem though. There's secure parking behind locked gates if you want to stay over, but you'll need a fart sack and pillow.

Sorry, will have to pass on this one.

Not only am I in the wrong hemisphere, but I'm off looking for suits that day.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

An obscure Aussie euphemism for some kind of unmentionable sexually deviant act?

Viffer, have pee-emmed you details of the day.

hope your day in court goes well viking

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Bit busy myself that day or I would come and join in.

If you are planning on using the A343 (i think) between Newbury and Andover, it has been "resurfaced" in places and there is loose gravel in several places.

Nooj: AFAIK, it's not a strange turn of phrase for anything deviant.

Aladinsaneuk: Close but no cigar...

For those of you who do go - have a great day out, you lucky devils.

I know about the top dressing, it's my daily commute. The only dodgey bit now is on a set of off-camber downhill bends, just the place you want to find gravel all over the road! We'll be going up them in the other direction though so it shouldn't be an issue.

Damn - just found out that I'm going to be unsupervised tomorrow so could have come out to play .... but I'm not going to get down to Newbury by 10 or so.

Hear it's going to rain anyway :smt020

Eeee, it were grand. No gravel anywhere, but a lot of traffic in the way (not for long though :smt003 ).
