Well so far so good......
I took it out for an hour after work and no problems, it's looking good but i'll need to go for a proper ride and do some miles to know for sure. But right now it looks like cack in the tank clogging up the fuel filter and ristricting the fuel flow.

Well, I've done 200 odd miles without a problem now so I'm fairly sure it's fixed. So nice to have my bike back again!

It seems like she just needed proper trashing that you OBVIOUSLY cannot provide!
Seriously though, what did they do?
Edit: OK, I just noticed that you're running two threads simultaneously, so I can answer my own question.

yep, just a grubby fuel filter as i'd guessed. I blame the previous owner. I guess it's a bike that doesn't like to be sat about, it needs to be ridden. The previous owner only managed 5K miles in 3 years, I've already done 1K miles in the last month and a bit and I don't even commute on it, pleasure miles only
