Thats the way it goes,they then tried to sell me the 05 bike for £4400 and would not drop.
will just have to keep looking.Glass guide in the summer was £4kprivate and £4400 dealer for an 06 got the figures from Aprilia dealer.

Hi everyone... seeing as this is my first post, I guess a small introduction is in order. Feel free to skip over it if you dont really care. Anyway, I'm a Yank... sorry... transplanted to Italy for work. When I got here I had absolutely no transportation and needed a bike that would do everything. Narrowed it down to a VFR, Sprint RS, or Falco (with much bias towards the Falco). So back in May I became the proud owner of a '00 with 39,000 KM on it. Paid Euro 2,800 for everything. Before you cry about the deal I got, you should know that the spag went about a month after I got it, so tack another 600 Euro on to that before you convert it into your mighty Pound. Other than that though, the only prob has been a hole in the clutch diaphram. No big deal, cheap to fix (although you would be surprised how long it takes to get parts even here in Italy!) and not hard to live with even when bad. All in all, the bike has been great. 45,000 KM on it now. It is parked outside all the time and looks the part.

So yeah, after all the babble, the point of my post was to say that there are some Falcos selling here in Italy at scary cheap prices. When you convert them to Pounds, I think you guys just might be shocked... and I think it might make any hassle associated with getting it there, worth it.

Check out this site (no affiliation, just a good resource) for pricing. It is in Italian, but if you can't figure out how to find a Falco from the 'Usato' drop down menus, you shouldn't be riding. I'd be interested to hear what you guys have to say about some prices for other bikes as well. In general (I read a few Brit mags) I am shocked and confused by how much more expensive bikes are on your islands. Arbitrage anyone?

Falcos are very cheap over here too - at least in comparison to what we are expected to pay for other bikes - it's one of the best value-for-money secrets ever ..... and a great bike as well.

Anyway, the first page is a bit busy, but you just have to go to the upper right hand side "recerca veloce annunci", pick Aprilia, and of course SL 1000 Falco.

Yeah, coming from the US, gas is expensive everwhere. And it definitely sucks to throw in 20 Euro and still not be full.

D-Rider, so far I'm really happy with the bike. At times it feels a bit heavy when commuting (with scooters buzzing all over the place), but really not bad. I'm really glad I didn't go for the VFR or RS.
