fuel pump
bikes been stood now for about a month,i switched the ignition on before starting it up this morning the fuel pump kicked in normaly but made a right squeell sounds like it's on it's way out i take it there in the tank? any idea how much a new one is. cheers

I would bet money that the pump is lubricated by the fuel passing through it.
If this is a common occurance if the bike has been sat idle, I would suggest that the seals inside have just dried out where there has been no fuel passing through it.
If that's the case then is should stop squealing fairly quickly. At the end of the day if it starts running quietly again I would say it's not damaged, just listen out for more squealing/grinding noises
