Spotted THREE Falcos at the weekend!

#1 Post by Nooj » Mon Jun 11, 2007 8:38 pm

We went up to Skegness to join a rideout that a mate had organised with 15 or so other loonies from about the country. Linconshire has a high Falco content it seems.

Saturday afternoon:

Willingham Woods, black Falco with polished rims parked up with a couple of yellow/gold Triumphs, wondered if it was Ben who I'd met at Cadwell a few weeks before.

Then a few miles up the road we passed a red/black one in a small group of bikes heading in the opposite direction.

Sunday morning:

Not exactly sure where, maybe near Ancaster? A silver Falco with a couple of other bikes heading in the opposite direction again, this time I was with the missus on her 2ono and a mate on a red FZ1, I gave you a thumb up on passing.

So who were you???

It was me Nooj.

Sorry i didn't chat but i didn't see you till i was sat down stuffing my face and by the time i'd finished you were just leaving.

Catch up another time.

Hope you had a good ride it was a good day for it.

As for the rider of the red falco, i did have a chat with him at the woods and i don't think he's a forum user. Although i never really asked.

Sounds to me then that Lincolnites have good taste.

Ben

Ah, I did have a look around to see if I could spot you but managed not to.
It was a very good ride thanks, three hours up to Skeggy, four hours riding round Linconshire with a burger stop in the middle, a bunch of us having an after ride curry and beer session in Spilsby that night, then a five hour ride home on Sunday, taking the scenic route across country. 530 miles in all. The Falco took it all in it's stride and even sorted out some of my dodgey cornering efforts for me, quite a few decreasing radius bends up your way.

Lincolnshire has some awsome roads for biking. A real good mix.
There aren't many police at all in the sticks so as long as you keep away from the busy areas you can really give it some and get your speed fix.
Thats a good long ride you had there.
Hope to have a bit of time to get up to bonny scotland in a few weeks time and get some milage clocked up. just throw a cheap tent on the back and away i go.

Ben

Watch out for THESE wierdos, some of them are going on to do THIS as well.

It was our big bike outing last year, fantastic, couldn't have had better weather except for the last couple of days. On our first night on Skye we all piled out of a sea-food restraunt (some of the best food I've ever had) for the final few miles to the camp site and decided that it was light enough to carry on with black visors fitted. This was at about 10:30 PM! Astounding!

We're up in Glasgow for the end of tour party this year, get some serious boogying done at the Cathouse, out in time for a 3am battered haggis kebab, then back across town to the hotel on the beer bus with all the other freaks and dregs.

Agree with most views on the Lincs roads, I use em every weekend, but police are a bit more clever than you may realise.
Last year they had camera vans at Willingham on some Wednesday nights, no speed cameras just filming people doing wheelies on the way out, sure they wern't doing it to show at the weekly police film night.
Also have a few Q cars to watch out for, last year they had a Suby WRX STI with all the mods in the standard met blue, more recently have seen an Audi S4 in a met blueish colour and a BMW 130M in a met grey. All have no markings you can see just bhe hidden blue lights in the grill. So if you see one of these in your mirrors check for two blokes in white shirts before you start to play.
Otherwise some great roads you can keep up 3 figure averages on!

Possibly catch you out there some time.

I too are a regular lincolneer :smt002 ....they are some best roads available with a bit of everything....straights / twisties / bumps / smooth tarmac, and not much traffic usually apart from the main skeggy road.

police in linc's also have unmarked bikes and skoda's

I was at willingham sunday, and horncastle way...but spotted a really nice falco on saturday fuelling up on the a638 near Doncaster....bronze one with akra' cans / bellypan etc mmmmm! :smt006
