That doesn't surprise me too much, Greg. These days it's quite normal. I'm mildly surprised that they don't build their own chassis or crankcases, but everything else is pretty much par for the course. Ducati have been using bought-in suspension, wheels and electrics since the days of the late 888s and early 916s. In fact I tracked down a place that will build you a replica 888 or 916 chassis for a small (ahem) consideration...
