Chain links with RSV (Banana) swingarm...

#1 Post by GregD-UK » Wed Jun 01, 2016 7:51 pm

Hi all,

Chain is as loose as a whores cod piece, having just done 1,400 miles around the west coast of bonny scotland last week :smt003 Decided to count the links and found I have 106 on there. Looked on fleebay and found that said RSV Mille chain is 108 :smt017

Have a huge stretched piece on my chain and to top it off today tried adjusting my chain and a fricking chain adjuster snapped :smt010 Will get that sorted on friday along with my new racking system... GIVI Outback Trekker boxes going on for future trips.

Question is should I buy a 108 link chain and adjust wheen way back, thus, lengthing my wheel distance, or, go with 106 and maybe have more adjustment if it stretches abit?

Cheers, in advance.

P.S. Any meet ups this summer in the middle of our fair land?
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

106 or 108

I fitted a 108 on a 16 front and 43 rear on a Mille swinger yesterday. I seem to recall that a 106 fitting may be dependent on the sprocket sizes. But am not certain .
