Buy the Shimano tool from Halfords (or another bike shop). I had one (shimano) but I think I lent it to Willopotomas ages ago and I think he still has it.
Do a search - I know details of the part lurk within the Aprilia technical section.

thanks for the offer. I found them on ebay and ordered one. It may be I've ordered the wrong thing so I may be back...
