Hi all in need of a falco side stand ..For some reason mine seems to be bent have already straightend it once .I can only assume it's a cheap flea bay one put on by one off the previous owners. At the moment I don't mind it being an original falco stand cheers

Re: stand
No you DON'T need a Falco sidestand. Unless you get the US market version, buy something that works properly.skye2skye wrote:Hi all in need of a falco side stand ..For some reason mine seems to be bent have already straightend it once .I can only assume it's a cheap flea bay one put on by one off the previous owners. At the moment I don't mind it being an original falco stand cheers
The standard Falco one (other than US and Australia) has the following problems.
- * It doesn't leave the bike at a good angle - finding a slope on which it won't fall or get blown over is a nightmare.
* It touches down too close to the centre-line of the bike - It's not a stable footprint.
* It's made of cheese and bends easily .... oh, you know that ....
Search on the forum for opinions. Honda Blackbird and Fireplace are often used and simple to fit (so I hear). I have a Gixer stand - I think it's still the best but does require a fair bit of modifying.
However, please don't just fit another standard stand.

Dont bother fitting a standard stand, just get a hammer and smash up all of your left hand side stuff....
mirror, indicators, fairing, clip on, pegs, end can, beat the shit out of it and save yourself the money of fitting another stand made out of cheese, the end result will be the same.
You need to fit another stock stand like you need to push knitting needles through your eyeballs.
Im not joking DONT DO IT.
There is a ton of stuff on here regarding stands, so read up and do your ride a massive favour

So if I understand you Fatboy you're saying they're not very good ?

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Hmmm .... I've just had a thought .... wonder if he posted this for a laugh and we're the mugs that have risen to it.
The proof will be in whether we see further posts asking for:

- 1) A blue-spring shock in good condition (if you DO want one, I have a number to choose from)
2) A complete set of yellow bodywork in good condition (I certainly DON'T have any of that)
