Battery recharging

I always find it a pain to undo the two allen bolts on the riders seat to get to the battery.
I was thinking of running two wires from the battery terminals under the passenger seat so I could just attach charger to them. Would I need a certain thickness of wire and are there any pitfalls to this, apart from the obvious shorting. Was thinking of using thick wire with end caps which could be removed for charging.
Good or bad idea?

An Optimate or similar often comes with a wiring set. Wires aren't particularly thick as they tend to trickle charge.

Yeah, optimate, permanently connect the battery then connector under the pillion seat/pod.

Pop the pillion seat/pod off connect the optimate, turn on, job jobbed :)

Mine is like that, but hangs down from where I keep tripping over the charging lead :)

Mine is hooked up to Oxford solar charger, comes with 3 connection options.,
Croc clips, fag lighter plug in or permanently fixed ring connection to terminals.
I'm using the latter, plugs into jack plug which is long enough to run out along rear subframe.
My seat is no longer bolted down, as I have to force the seat lugs under the tail unit I guessed it ain't gonna fall off anytime soon, I have some of those neat qr pins which need only r clips but I never fitted the r clips, see above !
Cleverly disguised as an adult !

I've got an optimate lead and a solar charger lead on mine both live under the hump.

And if ever a man was going to know about batterie powered toys ...
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
