Are they any good?
Can they cause electrical/starting faults? ... Datatool one. Cheers

There's one under the back seat of mine that has had the fuse removed so I assume it was causing problems for the previous owner... I keep thinking about removing it as it's taking up space

Don't think any of them came with an alarm.

Anecdotally Meta ones are less likely to leave you stranded than Datatool ones.
I seem to remember Alad getting stranded by a Datatool alarm with a strop on.
I got stranded by my Meta alarm though because the key fob decided to break.

I wouldn't fit an alarm to anything unless the insurance mandated it. Mine was on the bike when I bought it.
Where ever I lay my hat.....

This is the kind of answers i was expecting. Went to see Jay yesterday with my unwell Falco.. intermittent starting. The answer seems to have been the Datatool immobiliser. Jay kindly removed the system for me... problem seems to have gone. Fingers crossed!!

Datatool have a reputation for being shit. As it goes, I've got an RSV in the workshop at the moment awaiting an Datatoolectomy..lol
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.
