Took her on a track day

#1 Post by Foxstein » Fri Jul 11, 2014 7:21 pm

Took my Falco to Cadwell park yesterday for a one or two laps. Unlike the rest of the country which was basking in sunshine here in eastern lincolnshire it decided to start spitting from the moment we started our sighting laps, by the time we had finished the session the track was decidedly damp. Each time it looked like it was going to stop and brighten up it started again so by the time it came round to our next session it was starting to get wet, which is better than damp. This led to much fun accelerating up the mountain and the back end spinning up and squirming :smt001 and it did step out on a couple of corners
:smt018
But had a great day and used the lap timer as best I could, best time was in the afternoon on a now very wet track, 2.18 a 2.19 a 2.20 but most around 2.29... but I didnt fall and almost got used to it losing traction on corners. For some reason it did it nearly everytime exiting park corner.
looking forward to a dry day there next time!!!
A guy followed me for a lap and got me on his cam so hoping he,ll put it on you tube soon :smt001

I'd love to go round Cadwell again. Trackday in the wet thats brave... Glad you are didn't bin it and unless your a bit of a masochist, I think you'll find a dry day more fun.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today

I've done a few track days on my Falco now: Snetterton 300 twice, Cadwell, Anglesey.

Mine's on Dunlop Sportsmarts, which grip well enough for knee and footpeg to go down at will. I don't know what decks out next after the pegs, not leant it over far enough to find out (in case the anser is the whole bike).

Yep, the trick is not in how far you can get it to lean over but in the ability to get it back up again.
