He looked up the torque setting whilst I was there but by the sounds of it looked at the wrong setting???
The owner's manual says 90nm or 66 ft lb.
My Capo 1200 needs the 120nm.
The Owners Manual that Aprilia put online says 120 Nm (page 62) for the rear wheel and 80Nm for the front.

That's what I get for quoting the US manual!

Don't worry mate
We established a long time ago that there are differences - even in the air....
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

You know what's worse?? I "quoted" the US manual from memory.
The US manual says 120nm/86 lb. ft.
Ugh!

I quoted the figure of 90 nm from my (RSV) Haynes manual, also known as The Joke Book.
I gather Aprilia reccommended the lower torque setting following some rear wheel bearing failures which MAY be attributed to an over tightened rear spindle (axle to our US cousins ) nut
Anyway, at 90 nm, I aint shook the fucker loose so it works !
