Mirror forever floppy
I have a floppy mirror. I can't tighten it up as turning the nut just seems to turn the screw thread. Of course I can't remove it to replace it either as turning the nut just seems to turn the screw thread.
Because the nut is recessed into the bracket I can't see how I'll be able to hold the screw still to loosen or tighten the nut. Has anyone had a similar predicament and solved it?

The bolt is captive in the plastic of the mirror stem and if it's turning you'll need to hold it tight to undo the nut. I guess you could araldite the bolt back into the stem and reuse the mirror if you can get it off 1st.
TBH I reckon you'd be better off sawing through the mirror stem and trying to hold the back of the bolt somehow, as the mirror seems pretty much useless as it is.
Slightly less destructive, but still going to cause damage, would be to clamp the stem very tight with molegrips to try and stop the bolt from turning, not too convinced that'll work though.
Good luck

I don't see the need to fit the wider ones from the RS125 but then I'm not a fat b*stard

Ha ha ! Another racing snake ! I am also of the ' non pie eating' stature but I really do recommend the longer 125 mirror arms,as they are for a smaller bike I think they are cheaper and they really do give you a good view of any persuing enemy and hopefully avoid Throttle Fun Penalty Points
