After changing the fluid a couple of months ago and finally getting the system working I noticed a few traces of white dried powder on the clutch case cover, I then redid everything and checked for leaks, I now don't have any but the temperature seems to climb form 76 to 80 odd really quickly and then comes down again when I get going.
Basically am I over thinking it and this is what the bike does or am I short of fluid in the reservoir which I will check again tonight.
One thing do you check the fluid on the level i.e. Abba stand or side stand.
As ever any thoughts would be appreciated

Re: cooling system
On mine 76 is the temp it sits at in clean air (not trying to get past a milk wagon) at a reasonable open road speed, say 50 and up. I've had it slightly lower by forcing a metric fuckload of air in the front, on private land, obviously. Mine also happily wanders upwards if going slowly or traipsing through cities. Yours sounds completely normal to me.Tonyunn wrote:the temperature seems to climb form 76 to 80 odd really quickly and then comes down again when I get going
Where ever I lay my hat.....
Mine is likewise, temp rises very quickly when dawdling amongst the sheep, clean air space it will stay 76/77, when the rads get some extreme ventilation I see 74.
As long as the fans kick it at around 99 don't worry.
Standard setting for the temp switch is fans ON at 98/99 and OFF at 95
