Slim possibility....

#1 Post by fatboy » Wed Jun 04, 2014 8:24 pm

I have cooked two ECU's, most likely due to a bad earth on the voltage reg/ rectifier. I guess there are some low voltage fragile components in there.
Is there any chance that my Forza or Gabro eprom may hav survived?
Would I compromise my new ECU by fitting and trying to run with the above eproms ?

Yes there's a fair chance but it all depends on what the problem was.

Unlikely that trying it will kill another ECU .... but I can't guarantee all will be ok

Thanks for that, will just have to see how she runs with a virgin still factory sealed ECU.
I will never really know what killed the two ECU's, one after the other in about 20 mins of riding, can only point the finger at the almost non existant earth on the reg/rec,
Will have to test the system before any spirited riding takes place
