Hi guys. Few questions...
are the white ones ohlins?
Are they any good for the Falco?
This is available just 6miles from me... the ad suggests you can replace the bottom lug (snapped) using your existing shock. Anyone know if possible? Wirth getting? Leave alone? [/list]

It's a standard shock from a 98-01 mille.

Stay away from It. It's more bother than its worth trying to replace that broken eye....believe me.

Go for a later one and get the dog bones and triangles.

They're a much better unit I'm told.

Iirc it's a Sachs shock, not Ohlins. Improvement over standard, but not awesome. Factor in a service at £80

Also needs a bit of trimming of the valve, as it fouls the frame and loses pressure

As for the eye, no idea, except people have advised steering clear when they're cracked. Only worth a punt if it's really cheap I'd say!

thanks for the reply. Worth asking.

What about a rsv/tuono yellow sachs shock for 2006 onwards with triangles? Bike done inly 650 miles when ohlins went in due to track use. Would i need more than just the triangles? Sorry for more questions. Trying to learn as quick as possible.

I think there may be a sticky thread all about shocks and I THINK that this doesn't fit you want IIRC a gen 1 with appropriate links
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

tbh

the white spring sachs shock, when serviced and set up for the rider, is probably good enough for most of us

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I think i could get the white shock for under £50 (hopefully £30-£40). The thing that bothers me is the bottom lug. Are they easy to change? Readily available? Bit off the original blue sachs Falco shock I currently have? If I could do it all and serviced for under £130 i think it may be worth a punt...

I would not bother personally too much mither plus the service and the shock alone would be above that unless they included the lug as part if the service

That'll do me. I'll hold out for the right one. No massive rush. Thanks
