A SUNNY DAY LOST

#1 Post by plasticpig72 » Sat Mar 08, 2014 6:26 pm

For months now I have been meaning to get a spare key cut for her.

Today when it is nice sunny and dry I really wish I had done that which I had meant to do.

I have spent all day turning the house upside down, hacked everyone off in the house and it's now dark and I have had to call off the search.

Does anyone know if the key number is on either the filler cap lock or the seat cowl lock. If it is how can I get either of them off without the keys.

Including labour Aprilia want £350 to replace the locks, but have someone who can cut a key from the key number.

Contact breakers for a second hand set or call griff for the specific answer

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

An experienced locksmith may be able to cut a key to suit but they have to know old shcool tactics.
Only way to open locks minus key is to use slide hammer to remove barrel, trash the lock and hope it can be opened with screwdriver.
OR RING GRIFF sensible option

Well - I've got new keys. Sent the ignition lock to these guys:

http://www.keysinthepost.com/actinic/ApriliaKeys.html

They made 2 new keys to match and posted back to me £30 in total. Saves drilling out the other locks!.........................I might just leave work early to get it all back together :smt001

Bargain - that's well worth knowing.
