my Falco was rear end last week by young lady presume she had recently passed her test as she panicked when blue lights came up behind her and instead of pulling over to the curbside floored it into the back of me ..Insurance picked up my bike the other day and dropped hire bike of .have now got assessment of damage as follows new exhausts new rear tyre rear wheel to be resprayed new rear wheel bearings number plate ...lucky no bent frame or swing arm just got to wait for the third party assessor to approve repairs . hoping that wont take to long as the hire bike they have given me ok but its not a falco

Fortunately doesn't sound as bad as it might have been. Not good though!

Unfortunately because the insurance company use new genuine parts I think it may be written off.
Buy it back, and for less than 500 quid or maybe under 400 it could be repaired to it former glory. Btw. Falco frames don't bend they snap so you are really lucky.

There are people on here who could probably find you some nice standard cans and a standard rear wheel very cheap, if you do buy it back cheap as a write off!

If they do rite it off i will buy it back as the damage is only cosmetic .the beowulf cans she has on are repairable the rear tyre well they are not to badly priced and as for respraying the back wheel i have a couple of good spray shops near me .just got to wait and see what the assessor says .would be a shame to have her written off though as she is in great shape and only 20,000 on the clock

IIRC the cost of repairs only needs to be more than 40% of the bikes value for it to be written off. With the cost of new parts and the low book price on Falco's, the likelihood of a write of is high.

Deffo buy back and fix up for half nothing and you're up on the deal.

I did that twice with an old Kawasaki I used for my commute into London, I got paid out 5 grand in total on a bike that cost me 2.5 grand in the 1st place and cost me half nothing to repair. It looked like crap, but went ok, the 3rd accident killed it though

my insurance valuation from the asessor was 7.5k they are obliged to note evry mark not just ones you say are a result of the accident so that there can be no come back ... or at least thats what he told me ... so you are lookinmg at exgausts IIRC aprilia exhausts were silly money as were the panels so may be a write off as they say

Finally got the insurance sorted they have cat d my bike so have brought it back(£700) as i can repair very cheaply priced it at roughly £200 for parts .and the money i still have in my had is more than i paid for the bike in the first place.so if you look at it in black and white ive got a bike for free even with cost of repair.RESULT
