Well on the r6 when at full chat I felt like it could hit the limit easily where as previously I thought it started running out of breath... Although, this could just be my head playing tricks because I expected a difference...

Oh i see. Well if that is the case i personally would'nt gain anything from these plugs has i tend to use the mid range power and not rev the bike out.Cathcart wrote:Well on the r6 when at full chat I felt like it could hit the limit easily where as previously I thought it started running out of breath... Tolerance will be our undoing.
I've no idea if it was just because I was hoping for a difference or if there actually was. Either way, high chance it'll be iridiums that'll be going on the falco, once I decide which manufacturer.

'9' are the standard temp plugs, 8's run a little hotter, think the IX is for the iridium version as wellDalemac wrote:DRCP8E?old git wrote:NGK version for me, on the road, DCPR8E, the hotter running ones, I found they didn't soot up at all, stayed nice and clean.
I just put DRC9EIX in mine...

Thanks for the info, can only get standard NGKs locally, iridiums will have to wait as overdraught is now in lunar orbit and debit card non functioning so no online goodies for me.
As for the front plugs, despite small girlie hands, I just get a strop on at having to lift the tank and remove airbox to spend 60 seconds fitting plugs :smt013i
Edit
historically, with hotter running plugs,if your fuel/air mixture was too lean then it's possible to burn a hole through the piston crown, lean fuel mix burns very hot. Been there !
Not so relevant to modern injection systems
